What if an instrument could play scents as well as sounds? Based on the research of Septimus Piesse, a 19th century chemist and perfumer who discovered that scents could be composed musically and arranged like notes on a musical scale, we created this Perfumery Organ for the first time in the world to realize his century old vision. More than 50 perfumes and fragrance oils were blended to create this music composed by Ikuko Harada of Clammbon fame.
もしかして「音」と「香り」の共奏を実現したら?
音階のように、複数の「香り」に構造を与えた「香階」がつくれるのではないか、と化学者でもあり調香師でもあるSeptimus Piesse(セプティマス・ピエス)が夢想したのは19世紀半ば。その150年前のアイデア/研究を基に、音と香りを同時に奏でる新しい楽器 “Perfumery Organ(調香オルガン)” をつくりました。このオルガンのおよそ24の音階と香階を使って、音楽家・原田郁子（クランボン）によって新曲が生み出されたのです。
